DH@MSU supports faculty/staff* and student (graduate and undergraduate) development through the award of funds of up to $500 for digital humanities research and teaching. Items funded may include: virtual conference attendance, training activities, software, equipment, and data. Faculty/staff and students from any discipline or unit at any point in their career/time at MSU are welcome to apply. If you have any questions regarding this grant, please contact the chair of the Research Committee, Amanda Tickner at

The Research Committee, in evaluating proposals, will prioritize funding work that is deeply engaged in Digital Humanities and which may not otherwise receive funding through institutional means. Formal affiliation with or previous funding from DH@MSU on the part of the applicant will not factor in funding decisions, nor will the applicant’s role at the university (e.g. faculty, student, etc).

The Research Committee will review a first round of proposals submitted by February 1, 2021 and a second round of proposals submitted by April 5, 2021 April 19th, 2021.

*Faculty/staff is a broad category that encompasses anyone who is not currently a student at MSU and who is employed by the University.
